The Zambia National Service has announced the sale of Eagles Mealie Meal at reduced prices, with a 25-kilogram bag of breakfast meal selling at K175 on order, while roller meal is going for K135.

According to the ZNS price schedule, the retail price for a 25-kilogram bag is K185 for breakfast meal and K145 for roller meal.

The mealie meal is being sold through the ZNS Chongwe, Monze and Mpika Milling Plants, with Eagles mealie meal also available at Chawama Market.

Smaller quantities are also available, with a 12.5-kilogram bag of breakfast meal selling at K87 on order and K92 retail, while roller meal costs K67.50 on order and K72.50 retail.

The initiative is expected to provide consumers with an alternative source of affordable mealie meal, amid continued efforts to ensure availability of the country’s staple food.

ZNS has previously been involved in producing Eagles mealie meal as part of measures to improve access to affordable mealie meal.
