FIRST Lady Mutinta Hichilema has donated assorted items to Kitwe Teaching Hospital on the Copperbelt.
Among the donated items were 52 beds, 100 mattresses, 20 wheelchairs, and 100 bags of mealie meal.
Mrs Hichilema also extended her support to vulnerable communities in Kitwe, where she donated 10 embroidery machines for cooperatives, 150 sewing machines, 200 blankets, 200 bags of mealie meal, 900 raincoats for rural school children, 50 bales of sugar, and 50 containers of cooking oil.
“Our commitment to strengthening healthcare and empowering communities continues to reach every corner of Zambia. From Kasama to Mongu, Solwezi to Monze, and now Kitwe, each visit reflects our ongoing mission to complement the Government’s efforts in improving healthcare services and enhancing community well-being,” she said.
Mrs Hichilema said the donations were part of efforts to empower people for sustainable development, uplift livelihoods, and support the elderly.
She commended healthcare workers at Kitwe Teaching Hospital and across the country for their dedication and tireless service.
“Special appreciation goes to our partners ,the Government of India, OAFLAD, Project C.U.R.E., and the Gladys Mwansa Masabo Foundation , for their generous support.
