Former Petauke Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda is awaiting formal arrest and charges following his deportation to Zambia.
Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha has disclosed this, adding that police will provide further details on the matter.
Mr Banda fled the country in 2024 while facing criminal charges, including aggravated robbery and attempted murder.
He escaped from lawful detention in Zambia and has since been on the country’s most-wanted list.
While outside the country, Mr Banda made several allegations against various people, including incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema.
It remains unclear whether the allegations could lead to further legal action against him.
