Kulamba to Get 35,000 Free Condoms

By Christopher Miti AIDS Healthcare Foundation Zambia plans to distribute for free 35,000 condoms during the 2026 Kulamba traditional ceremony of the Chewa people. The ceremony, which set for this week-end in Katete, Eastern province, attracts people from Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. AHF Regional Medical Manager, CHIMWEMWE ZULU says the provision of condoms is in line with her organisation’s drive to prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections. Speaking in Chipata, when she called on Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, LEWIS MWAPE, Dr ZULU said AHF has also provided support for community awareness programmes. And Dr MWAPE commended AHF for partnering with government in the health sector, noting that the organisation must also put in place proper monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
