Picture: Zambia24

By Sibeso Likezo The Barotse Royal Establishment has announced that the coronation anniversary of the LITUNGA, LUBOSI IMWIKO II, will be celebrated today, October 17th, 2026, instead of the usual October 13th date. Acting Ngambela INDUNA KALONGA says the celebrations will be held at the Limulunga Palace arena, following a change of venue from Lealui Palace, where the event was initially scheduled to take place from October 17th to 19th. He has called on well-wishers across the country to support the event through financial contributions or material donations to ensure its successful hosting. The anniversary commemorates October 13th, 2000, when Litunga LUBOSI IMWIKO II ascended to the throne, celebrating Lozi heritage, leadership, unity, peace and cultural pride.
