Newly elected Mafinga South Member of Parliament, Faith Munthali, has failed to attend court as she remains admitted to the intensive care unit ICU to Isoka District Hospital.
According to her spokesperson, Daliso Tembo, Ms. Munthali is still under observation at the hospital after falling ill while in police custody.
The lawmaker was expected to appear before court to answer charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and Accessory After the Fact, contrary to Sections 394 and 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
She was arrested and detained on 12th September 2026, and was granted police bond on Wednesday, 15th September 2026.
