FANS and fellow actors of adored famous Mpali series actress Wanga Zulu, alias Amai guru, have woken up to a sombre Friday following her death.
Social media is awash with condolence messages following the passing of Ms Zulu, whose cause of death is undisclosed.
But in 2014, Ms Zulu, alias ,Junza, announced how she was diagnosed with cancer and sought treatment for it, with help of comforting medical personnel after she shared her fears.
As fate would have it, the cancer survivor has sadly died during awareness month for the same disease, which has been claiming the lives of many woman in the recent past.
This morning, social media is filled with sombre condolence messages for the loss of the actor, whom many described as kind and motherly, on and off the screens.
Her close friend and fellow Nguzu wife, Anna Munamonga, alias Mwiza, shared her grief on Facebook in a short message, accompanied heartbreak and weeping emojis.
“Wanga shuwa monga Boza, RIP,[Wanga my friend, as if it’s a lie]” she wrote on her wall with sliding pictures herself and Mai Guru, with Rock of Ages song in the background.
Another Nguzu wife, Shupiwe(Monde Ndaka), lost for words, just wrote “Mai guru No😭😭😭😭”.
Shazzy Phiri, who plays Ms Zulu’s stubborn mummy’s boy son, Haimbe, in Mpali, is equally lost for words and just posted a dark background on his status.
Mpali actor Cosmas Ngandwe alias Logic, also shared his grief online.
“Rest in peace mamy wanga zulu. You have fought your race.
Mpali will miss you! 😭,” to comic actor said.
Veteran actor Patrick Salubusa said the death of Ms Zulu, whom he describes as gentle soul, has left a huge vacuum in the movie industry.
“💔💔💔 Go well, my sister. Mpali – and the entire film industry – will never be the same without your gentle, beautiful soul.
Farewell, Wanga Zulu, our beloved Amai Guru in Mpali. Your passing has truly broken my heart,” Mr Salubusa, who is former National Association of Media Arts (NAMA) president.
