PF Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament, Stephen Kampyongo, says the convention last week which declared lawyer Makebi Zulu as PF party president is illegal.
The former Home Affairs Minister insisted that convening a general conference before the Court of Appeal delivers a judgment is unlawful.
According to Phoenix FM News, Kampyongo said that any declaration of leadership from the gathering has no legal standing.
Confusion continues to simmer within the former ruling party PF after a secret convention over the weekend declared lawyer Makebi Zulu as the party leader ahead of the August 13 general elections.
Social Media reports indicated that Zulu topped votes from 110 districts with 49.2 percent, followed by former Health minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya at 34.1 percent, former Kabwata lawmaker Given Lubinda at 8.7 percent, Chanda Katotobwe at 4.8 percent, Greyford Monde at 1.9 percent and Chishimba Kambwili at 1.4 percent.
