Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club have appointed Denis Makinka as head coach on a 17-month contract running from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2027, following the expiry of Mohamed Fathi’s contract on 31 May 2026.

Makinka, who joined the Solwezi based club in November 2025 as assistant coach, has been promoted to the top job after playing an integral role within the technical bench.

The club says his appointment reflects their confidence in his leadership, technical expertise and understanding of the team’s philosophy as they prepare for the upcoming MTN Super League season.

Club President Douglas Nyirenda says the club is delighted with the appointment, describing Makinka as someone who has been at the heart of the technical setup since arriving at the club and whose knowledge of the squad and commitment to the club’s vision gives them every confidence heading into the new chapter.

Makinka will be supported by a familiar technical team, with Yoram Kasempa continuing as second assistant coach, Buchizya Mfune as physical trainer and Humphrey Kapoma as goalkeeper trainer.
