Zambian music heavyweight Mulaza Kaira, popularly known as Macky 2, has reacted to losing the Nchanga Parliamentary seat to NRPUP candidate Rosemary Chipoya, accepting the outcome while maintaining that his commitment to serving the people remains unchanged.

In a heartfelt statement following the election, Kaira said he does not fully understand God’s timing at the moment but continues to trust His plan. He described the defeat as potentially being “a redirection olo ka delay fye”, expressing his belief that there may be a bigger purpose behind the outcome.

The former parliamentary candidate also paid tribute to his campaign team, describing them as the backbone of his campaign. He thanked them for their sacrifices, early mornings, late nights and unwavering belief throughout the election journey.

Kaira stressed that the campaign was never solely about winning a parliamentary seat, but about service to the people. He encouraged his team not to allow the disappointment to weigh them down, noting that there are still many ways to contribute to the development of their communities without holding a seat in Parliament.

“The work continues.”

He also extended his congratulations to Rosemary Chipoya on her victory, describing her campaign as decent and respectful. Kaira wished her success during her tenure and expressed hope that everyone could work towards the same goals for Nchanga—progress, unity and development.

Addressing the people of Nchanga, Kaira said the constituency remains home to him regardless of the election outcome. He pledged to continue fighting for the community and called on residents to remain united and strong.

“Olo mwanchita ifi, ine you have my heart.”

Kaira concluded his message with a declaration of faith and determination, making it clear that despite the electoral setback, his desire to serve and contribute to Nchanga remains firmly intact.
