‘EVERYBODY expects Argentina to beat Zambia,’ were the words of Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Keith Mweemba ahead of Chipolopolo’s encounter with the world champions next week.

On March 31, Chipolopolo will take to the field against Argentina in an international friendly being used as part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Champions’ preparations of this year’s World Cup.

Mweemba watched the team in training this morning and later addressed the media, sharing his thoughts ahead of what will be Zambia’s biggest international friendly since 2013 when they played Brazil.

He claimed losing would not be an embarrassment.

“It is not an embarrassment if Zambia is beaten by Argentina, how can that be an embarrassment? Everybody experts Argentina to beat Zambia, but I think people should be able to see ‘is there something we are seeing? How have we lost,’ “ Mweemba said.

He urged the coaches and players to enjoy the moment.

“The coaches should just go there enjoy the game, the players should enjoy the game, they should play for the nation, play for the badge, they should enjoy the moment. They should not put themselves under unnecessary pressure,” he said.

Mweemba said he urged the players to give it their best and if they lose, they lose with dignity.

“You [media] saw me address the players, that was my massage, we can lose, we cannot win all the games but let us lose with respect, with dignity, honorably, let’s see the effort,” he said.
