President Hakainde Hichilema has left Zambia to attend the 25th Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Heads of State and Government Summit in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The President says Zambia’s participation in regional and international bodies is key to the Grow Zambia Agenda, as the country seeks to increase trade and investment opportunities through joint public-private ventures with other countries, leading to increased exports and job creation for citizens.

Upon arrival, the President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other leaders.

The COMESA Summit is expected to focus on regional trade, investment, industrialisation and economic integration among member states.

The meeting, hosted by Zimbabwean President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, is being held under the theme, “One Market, One Future: Advancing Inclusive Industrialisation, Investment and Regional Integration in COMESA.”
