T-Sean – Woke Up Missing You EP

Zambian singer, songwriter and producer T-Sean has released a deeply personal new project titled “Wake Up Missing You,” an EP dedicated to the memory of his late wife, Sharai, who passed away on July 27, 2026. Rather than presenting it as a polished or carefully planned body of work, T-Sean describes the project as a collection of raw thoughts created while navigating grief.

The songs grew from words he initially wrote in the quiet moments of the night, with some of the lyrics beginning as random notes typed into his phone and others coming from WhatsApp statuses he shared when the weight of grief became difficult to carry alone. Eventually, he turned those thoughts into music, finding a way to give shape to emotions he struggled to express in any other form.

For T-Sean, “Wake Up Missing You” is ultimately a personal record of life after losing someone he loved deeply. He reflects on the difficulty of continuing without Sharai, describing the loss as something that took away a part of himself and acknowledging that words cannot fully capture the pain that comes with such a loss.

Despite the grief at the centre of the project, T-Sean also holds onto his faith, saying he continues to trust in God’s plans and timing even when he does not understand them. The EP therefore carries both the rawness of bereavement and a sense of faith through an experience that has profoundly changed his life.

Released in honour of Sharai’s heavenly birthday, “Wake Up Missing You” serves as T-Sean’s musical tribute to his late wife. Through the project, he preserves the thoughts, memories and emotions that came during some of his most difficult moments, closing with a message of enduring love and remembrance.
