Kabwata parliamentary election petitioner Andrew Tayengwa has withdrawn his petition challenging the election of NRPUP’s Danny Yenga over alleged violence during the campaign period.
However, his lawyers says the withdraw has been necessitated in the interest of progress but they are yet to formally file an application for the withdrawal before the Lusaka High Court.
This comes after Mr Andrew Tayengwa was scheduled to testify before court, following an application to have the case adjourned yesterday due to the fact that he had developed a severe headache.
The petition challenged Mr Yenga’s election as Kabwata Member of Parliament following the August 13, 2026 general election.
More details to follow.
