About three positions have not been included in the latest re-appointment of the Presidential Advisory Team following President Hakainde Hichilema’s re-election after the August 2026 general elections.
In his recent announcement, President Hakainde Hichilema publicly made seven re-appointments of officials to serve on his Presidential Advisory Team, leaving out 2 posts that were previously part of the team.
Among those appointed are: Bradford M. Machila – Principal Private Secretary, Christopher L. Mundia Jr. – Special Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs, Joseph Lungu – Special Assistant to the President for Policy Compliance, Levy J. Ngoma – Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs, Dr. Pamela Mambwe Nakamba – Economic Advisor to the President, and Jito Kayumba – Special Assistant / Advisor for Finance and Investments and Dr. Lawrence Mwananyanda – Responsible for Projects Implementation, Monitoring, and National Security.
Meanwhile, a review of the previous composition of the Presidential Advisory Team, also publicly listed on the State House website, shows that two appointments were not included in the recent appointment.
Among them is the Special Assistant to the President – Health, a role previously held by the current Health Minister, Professor Roma Chilengi. Another is the Policy and Strategic Advisor to the President, a position formerly occupied by Chipokota Mwanawasa, who recently left State House to take up a senior executive role with global commodities trading company Trafigura in Zambia.
unconfirmed information also indicates that State House chief communications specialist Clayson Hamasaka, had also not been officially re-appointed.
