U.S. Plans $725 Million Payment Toward UN Debt

The Trump administration has notified Congress of plans to allocate $725 million to the United Nations as part of efforts to address outstanding U.S. contributions.

No funds had been transferred as of August 21, according to a U.S. official.

The move comes ahead of President Donald Trump’s expected address to the UN General Assembly in New York next month.
