MINISTER of Health Elijah Muchima has dismissed as false claims suggesting that the University Teaching Hospitals (UTH) Adult Hospital is accommodating both male and female patients in one ward due to limited space.
Speaking when he made an impromptu visit to the facility to ascertain the facts, Dr Muchima urged the media to develop a culture of cross-checking information before publication.
He, however, clarified that it is standard practice for the hospital to temporarily move some patients to other unoccupied but separate wards for convenience, while ensuring privacy for both genders.
And Dr Muchima said the hospital has adequate stocks of essential medicines and medical supplies.
This is according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health Communication and Public Relations Unit.
