FOLLOWING concerns raised by members of the public regarding certain scenes in _Budget_, the latest music video by Yo Maps, the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has provided the artist and his team with specific technical guidance on how to edit the video directly on YouTube without requiring a full takedown.
The association noted that removing the video entirely would negatively affect its viewership and performance metrics.
Some viewers, including members of the clergy, have described the video as culturally inappropriate within the Zambian context.
ZAM president Brian Bwembya said the video’s director, Longwe Nyirenda, has confirmed awareness of the recommended editing mechanism.
Mr. Bwembya added that as of Thursday, April 30, 2026, Olios Records’ production partner, Reel Studios, informed ZAM that the necessary edits had been completed and that the process of replacing the original video with the revised version was underway.
“They further indicated that while the first upload attempt was unsuccessful, a second attempt has since been made,” *he said*.
“They added that as the Yo Maps team awaits the completion of the YouTube upload process, the alternative version has already been circulated locally,” *he said*.
