The Zambia Men’s Under‑20 football team will face defending champions South Africa in the semi‑final of the COSAFA Under‑20 Championship this Friday in Mozambique.

Zambia topped Group C with a perfect record of nine points and seven goals, matching South Africa’s tally as winners of Group B.

Earlier today, the Junior Chipolopolo defeated Botswana 3‑1 in their final group fixture. DANIEL SILUBONDE scored twice in the 9th and 63rd minutes, while JOHN FOLOKO added a third in extra time.

Coach PERRY MUTAPA praised the team’s performance but noted missed scoring opportunities, stressing that focus has now shifted to the semi‑final clash.

Botswana Coach BOYO RADIPOTSANE said despite their exit, the tournament provided valuable exposure for his side.

Zambia will meet South Africa at 12:00 hours on Friday at the ABB Stadium.
