ZCCM Investments Holdings PLC reported a net loss of K4.92 billion ($195.6 million) for the year ended 31 December 2025, compared to a net profit of K39.85 billion ($1.52 billion) in 2024.
In it’s audited financial statement posted on LuSE, the loss was primarily driven by the absence of a one-off exceptional gain from the 2024 Mopani Strategic Equity Partner Transaction and ongoing strategic reforms at key investee companies including Mopani Copper Mines, Konkola Copper Mines, and Lubambe Copper Mines.
Group total assets declined to K47.78 billion ($2.16 billion) from K57.29 billion ($ 2.05 billion) in 2024 due to the Kwacha appreciation from K 27.95 to K22.12 per USD and a K 2.04 billion ($92.2 million).
The group also recognised a legal provision of K2.04 billion ($92.2 million) following the final arbitral award issued on 22nd May 2026 by the Tribunal under the London Court of international Arbitration (LCIA) rules 2020 in relation to a claim involving Trafigura Group Pte.
During the period under review, key developments included the commissioning of Kansanshi Mining’s S3 Expansion, achieving record annual copper production of 170,929 tonnes.
Others included the full repayment of the USD 150 million Glencore legacy loan in April 2026 strengthening the balance sheet, and strategic investments in renewable energy through Maamba Solar Energy (35% for USD 9.45 million) and the Maamba Energy Phase II Expansion (USD 35 million commitment), while copper prices increased 41% during 2025 to USD 12,950 per tonne.
