By Wilson Mulinda

The Anti-Corruption Commission –ACC- has proposed the establishment of a specialised Criminal Assets Management Agency to oversee the management of confiscated, seized and forfeited assets.

ACC Director General DAPHNE CHABU says the proposed agency will provide a professional and dedicated mechanism for the management, preservation, maintenance, valuation and disposal of recovered assets.

Speaking during a consultative stakeholders’ workshop in Lusaka today, Ms. CHABU said a dedicated institution will ensure that assets are managed by professionals with the necessary skills and systems.

She said this will also allow law enforcement agencies to focus on their core mandates.
