“At the end of the day, the brand is bigger than the chaos, and the fans will always matter more than ego,” she said.

Meanwhile, VIP attendee Lauren Chisala said that while entry into the venue was smooth, the event failed to start on time, leaving early arrivals disappointed.

“The event was originally scheduled to start around 12, but activity only really picked up much later in the evening,” she said.

She added that some artists and DJs listed on the lineup did not perform, and the event did not follow the advertised schedule.

“The VIP section itself was well arranged for those who arrived early, allowing for a good view of the stage, but there were concerns over sanitation,” she said.

“There were only two toilets serving VIP, VVIP, and Golden Circle, which was not enough for that number of people.”

Chisala noted that the situation became highly inconvenient, with some attendees resorting to relieving themselves outside.

Despite the challenges, she said the headline act made the experience worthwhile.

“Davido’s performance was worth the wait, and seeing him perform live was exciting,” she said.

Chisala added that South African DJ Uncle Waffles was also affected by the delays, with reports indicating her set was shortened, further frustrating fans.

And Amigos Events Zambia apologized for the inconveniences, admitting to lapses in planning and promising improvements for future events.

The incident has since sparked wider discussions on event management in Zambia, with many calling for better planning, improved facilities, and stricter adherence to schedules to protect both artists and fans.
