A 30-year-old breast cancer survivor has commended Government for improving access to cancer treatment services in Zambia. PATIENCE CHISHIMBA, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, underwent surgery and chemotherapy at the Cancer Diseases Hospital in Lusaka. Ms CHISHIMBA expressed gratitude to Government for equipping the Cancer Diseases Hospital to enable patients to access quality treatment locally, reducing the need to seek specialised medical care abroad. She said improved access to treatment services has given hope to many patients battling cancer. Ms CHISHIMBA has also urged members of the public to undergo regular cancer screening, stressing that early detection plays a vital role in improving treatment outcomes and survival rates. watch : https://youtu.be/3KX1hFA8gbw
