A three month old baby boy has died in Isoka District after allegedly being bitten by rats while sleeping.

The incident happened on 20th October, 2026 around 13:00 hours at Lolani Village, Chief Kafwimbi in Isoka District.

Muchinga Province Police Commanding officer Lubinda Mayamba has confirmed the incident to Diamond TV.

According to police, the mother, 17-year-old Ivwananji Mbao of the same village, reported that she had returned home around midday from piece work and laid her baby, identified as Simon Simwakwanya, to sleep inside the house under a mosquito net.
