CHIPOLOPOLO winger Lameck Banda is facing possible disciplinary action from Italian Serie A side Lecce after allegedly failing to return to Italy in time for the start of the club’s pre-season preparations.
In a statement, Lecce said it was investigating the circumstances surrounding Banda’s delayed return and would determine whether he had breached his contractual obligations.
“U.S. Lecce will carry out the necessary in-depth investigations regarding the circumstances taken by the player, reserving any initiatives, even on a disciplinary level,” the club said.
The club said the investigation was intended to establish whether Banda had correctly fulfilled his contractual obligations under a deal that runs until June 30, 2027.
Banda, who recently signed a contract extension with Lecce, has been heavily linked with a move to a Saudi Arabian club during the current transfer window.
