More Civil Servants to be Retired in National Interest Veep

Picture: Zambia24

Vice President Mutale Nalumango says civil servants should be prepared for changes as various government institutions undergo realignment.

Responding to a question from Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo on why government has gone back on its earlier assurance that no civil servant would be retired in the national interest.

Mrs Nalumango says government has found itself in a position where some civil servants must be retired.

Mrs Nalumango says retirement in the national interest does not necessarily mean that the affected individuals have done something wrong.

This follows reports circulating on social media over the past week suggesting that a number of civil servants are set to be retired in the national interest.
