Mukandila Trial Fails to Take Off

The trial of Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Secretary General and lawyer Celestine Mukandila has been adjourned to November 6, 2026, after the State told the Court it was not ready to proceed.

Mukandila appeared before Lusaka Resident Magistrate Anna Holland today, Tuesday for the commencement of trial in a case involving four counts of forgery and uttering false documents relating to the alleged surrender of shares in ZRIMS Farm Limited.

The defence, represented by Joe Phiri, did not object to the adjournment, which the court granted.

Magistrate Holland also warned lawyers and the media to ensure that any reporting on the sensitive case is factual, cautioning that she would personally hold accountable anyone who reported otherwise.
