NEW YORK – TAYLOR
Townsend turned the entrance tunnel to Arthur Ashe Stadium into her personal runway on Sunday at the 2026 US Open, wearing a walk-on look as she strutted onto the court for her fourth-round singles match against Aryna Sabalenka in a black, floor-length hooded coat adorned with sparkly fringe.
Townsend has worn a new kit for each singles match so far at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre, and has been using her on-court outfits as a vehicle for personal expression.
She abides by the “look good, feel good, play good” mentality, and said in a press conference that it’s been an asset to her during her matches.
“I really feel like it’s been helping me, because I do, I look good, I feel good, I play good. I keep saying that, because I feel like that when I’m on the court and off the court, as well,” Townsend said after her third-round match.
Her looks for the previous three rounds revolved more around color and unique design elements such as buckles, fringe and colorblocking, but her all-black outfit for Sunday’s day session made an impact.

According to Townsend’s Instagram post, “the lightweight fabric gives the look power without the weight, making it look effortless on and off the court.”
The tennis dress underneath features a mesh bodice with a front zipper, outlined in rhinestones. The pleated skirt also has sparkling beads that extend from the peplum accent.
