Veep urges MPs to work together to boost national development

Vice-President W.K. Mutale-Nalumango has implored Members of Parliament (MPs) to put Zambia first and work together in advancing national development as the 2026–2031 Parliament officially gets underway.

Ms Mutale-Nalumango posted on her Facebook page after taking her Oath of Office in the Chambers of Parliament, describing the occasion as one marked by deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility.

She said the oath taken was a solemn commitment to serve the Zambian people with integrity, discipline and dedication.

“Parliament is at the heart of our democracy, and the oath we have taken is a solemn commitment to serve our people with integrity, discipline and dedication,” she said.
