Zcsa Seizes 143 Expired Drinks

Hatyoka said the seized products had been withdrawn from the market and were in ZCSA custody awaiting disposal in line with the law.

He said the withdrawal was a preventive regulatory measure aimed at protecting consumers from potential risks associated with the sale and consumption of products beyond their stated shelf life.

Hatyoka warned that entities supplying non-compliant beverages and other products risked punitive action, as such products could pose a risk to public health and safety.

He urged members of the public to report suspicious products covered by compulsory standards to the nearest ZCSA office in provincial centres, border offices or the Head Office in Lusaka, as well as through the Agency’s online platforms.

Hatyoka said ZCSA would continue enforcing compulsory standards, alongside public education and stakeholder engagement, to ensure that only safe products were traded on the Zambian market.
