Ballot papers have arrived in Mansa ahead of Thursday’s, November 5, by-election, with stakeholders verifying the ballots received.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says all is set for the by-election, with the deployment of poll staff to the ten polling stations expected to take place today.
Stakeholders have commended the verification process, describing the Commission’s level of transparency as commendable.
Only two political parties are contesting the Lwingishi ward by-election: the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) and the opposition National restoration party for Unity and prosperity (NRPUP).
The by-election was necessitated by the death of the UPND candidate before the August 13, 2026 general election.
