BREAKING: Iran Rejects U.S.-Backed Proposal to Resume Talks
Iran has reportedly rejected a new proposal aimed at restarting negotiations with the United States, according to Iranian media.
Pakistan is reported to have delivered the proposal to Tehran, outlining a potential ceasefire framework and a platform for renewed diplomatic talks. The initiative was reportedly backed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
However, Iranian state media said Tehran rejected the proposal, citing the continued U.S. sanctions and economic pressure imposed on Iran.
The reported rejection comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with diplomatic efforts facing significant obstacles over sanctions, security guarantees and the terms of any potential ceasefire.
Iran has repeatedly insisted that meaningful negotiations require changes in the U.S. approach, while Washington has continued to press Tehran toward a diplomatic resolution.
The latest development could further complicate efforts by regional mediators, including Pakistan, to establish a new channel for U.S.-Iran negotiations.
