Kinglong Zambia Hands over 100 Fuel Tankers to Government

A US$15 million youth empowerment project has taken a major step forward, with Kinglong Zambia Limited officially handing over 100 fuel tankers to the Government for onward distribution to beneficiaries under the Youth Empowerment Programme.

The handover marks the completion of a long-delayed project aimed at creating employment, promoting youth entrepreneurship and expanding opportunities for young people to participate in economic activity.

Speaking on behalf of Kinglong General Manager Wu Chunming, company spokesperson Keener Njovu says the company is proud to be part of a partnership demonstrating the private sector’s commitment to supporting government’s youth empowerment agenda.

He has urged that the tankers be responsibly managed, properly maintained and used for the purpose for which the programme was established.

And Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe says the programme represents an important step towards economic inclusion and wealth creation for young people.

He has acknowledged the delays in implementing the project but says the government has now taken decisive steps to ensure its successful completion, urging beneficiaries to treat the opportunity as the beginning of a new chapter and use it to contribute meaningfully to national development.
