👉 NATO has conducted a major air exercise near Russia’s heavily militarized Kaliningrad exclave, in a show of force aimed at demonstrating the alliance’s capabilities along its eastern flank.
The large-scale deployment reportedly involved between 25 and 50 allied aircraft operating over Poland and the Baltic states.
The exercise included F-35 fighter jets, aerial refueling tankers and AWACS airborne early-warning aircraft. It also featured two specialized U.S. Air Force electronic-warfare aircraft designed to disrupt enemy communications, radar systems and other critical electronic networks.
⚠️ Conducting the exercise near Kaliningrad one of Russia’s most heavily fortified military regions highlights NATO’s ability to operate sophisticated electronic-warfare and airpower assets close to Russian territory.
The exercise also demonstrates the alliance’s capacity to rapidly concentrate a large multinational air force on its eastern flank in response to a potential security crisis.
NATO is signaling that Russia’s advanced defensive systems would face a highly coordinated and technologically sophisticated alliance in any potential conflict.
