By Sibeso Likezo Cattle farmers in Maondo Chiefdom of Sesheke District in Western Province are set to benefit from improved market access and free animal health services following the establishment of a modern cattle buying centre by Government. The initiative, being implemented in collaboration with the Mafisa Community Transformation Trust, is expected to boost livestock productivity, improve farmers’ incomes and contribute to the growth of Zambia’s beef industry. The Barotse Royal Establishment has welcomed the development, describing it as an important step towards improving sustainable livelihoods for cattle farmers in Western Province, particularly in communities targeted under the Mafisa programme. Meanwhile, Western Province Livestock Development Officer GARY SYATWINDA has urged cattle farmers to ensure their animals are tagged for proper identification and protection against theft. Mr SYATWINDA said livestock identification remains critical in strengthening animal management systems and safeguarding farmers’ investments. #LivestockDevelopment #Sesheke #WesternProvince #CattleFarming #Mafisa #GrowZambiaAgenda #FoodSecurity #ZNBCNews #Agriculture #RuralDevelopment
