Ukrainian President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY has congratulated President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA on his re-election as President of Zambia.
In a message dated August 31, 2026, President ZELENSKYY said the support received by President HICHILEMA reflects Zambians’ trust in his leadership and their desire for further democratic development.
President ZELENSKYY said Ukraine values its friendly relations with Zambia and appreciates the country’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.
He said Ukraine is ready to strengthen cooperation with Zambia in areas of mutual interest, including bilateral engagement within international organisations.
President ZELENSKYY has also invited President HICHILEMA to visit Ukraine, saying he will be pleased to welcome the Zambian leader.
He has wished President HICHILEMA good health and success in his duties, while wishing the people of Zambia peace, harmony and prosperity.
