Former PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has criticised the Brian Mundubile-led Tonse Alliance campaign team, describing it as overly excited and lacking discipline during the election period.
Kabimba says he became concerned when Mundubile publicly declared that he had won the election, arguing that this marked the beginning of problems for the opposition alliance.
He has recalled the 2011 elections, when the PF, despite believing it had won, did not publicly declare itself the winner because doing so would have been an offence.
Kabimba says instead, the PF wrote to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), informing the Commission that the party had its own results and was aware of the outcome of the election.
He says the Mundubile team, however, lacked a clear communication structure, with several members including Munir Zulu and Binwell Mpundu making statements on behalf of the alliance
According to Kabimba, the situation demonstrated a lack of order and discipline within the Tonse team.
