According to the Stockbrokers Zambia Weekly Equity and Economic report for the market period ended 9 October, 2026, Zambeef’s share price is reported to have dropped by K1.79 representing over 2% decrease in the company’s share price.
Stockbrokers Zambia Senior Securities Trader Tionge Banda has attributed the reduction in ZAMBEEF share price by over 2% due to excess supply of the stock on the exchange.
Speaking in an interview with Zambian Business Times ZBT Banda noted that in the period under review the Zambeef stock didn’t make any announcement and the reduction seen was mainly due to excess supply of the stock on the exchange.
” At the moment the reduction or increase in share prices is mainly driven by supply and demand and the reduction seen in ZAMBEEF’s share prices is due to excess supply of the stock on the exchange,” said Banda.
Despite the drop in share price seen on the exchange, a check done by the Zambia Business Times-ZBT in Zambeef’s half year financials for 2026 ended 31 March, shows that the company’s revenue increased by 2.3% year-on- year in Kwacha terms as the group generated revenue of K3.9 billion ($180.5 billion) and gross profit of K1.5 billion ( $69.3 billion).
The positive revenue recorded was attributed to the huge appreciation the Kwacha, which strengthened by approximately 19% against the US dollar during the period, translating into strong growth in reported US dollar terms, with revenue increasing by 29.2% and gross profit by 35.4% compared to the prior period.
