A 24-year-old man has died after he was allegedly stabbed in the stomach at Chakhas Bar in George Compound, Lusaka.
The deceased, identified as Shadreck Mundongo, was allegedly attacked by a person known to him on Sunday, October 25, 2026, around 17:00 hours.
Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha says the victim was found lying on the ground by a passerby and rushed to George Clinic, where he later died due to excessive blood loss.
Ms Kaitisha says the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Hasting Chanda, was apprehended by the deceased’s relatives and members of the public before being handed over to police.
The suspect is currently in police custody, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at the University Teaching Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
