President Hakainde Hichilema should assemble a stronger Cabinet to help him effectively fulfil commitments he made to the Zambians, Economic Front President and United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance partner Wynter Kabimba has said.

Mr Kabimba said he expected President Hichilema to appoint Cabinet ministers that would perform better and who would be more action-oriented than those in the last five years.

He said that the importance of an action-oriented Cabinet during the President’s second term would ensure presidential campaign promises were fulfilled and delivered.

“President Hichilema needs to assemble a more action-oriented Cabinet as he begins his second term to help him deliver and fulfil his campaign promises,” Mr Kabimba said.

He urged President Hichilema to ensure his next Cabinet comprised more competent and capable individuals that would translate government policies and campaign commitments into results.

Mr Kabimba advised the UPND administration to take advantage of the experience gained in its first five years of leadership to address challenges in their second term of its governance.

“The UPND should use the experience gained during their first term to address shortcomings experienced over the past five years without excuses as they start a second term in office,” he said.

Mr Kabimba was speaking ahead of President Hichilema’s official announcement of his Cabinet on Radio Phoenix News yesterday.
