The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka temporary Category 3 approval to host matches in November 2026.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Charles Chakatazya has confirmed the development following a CAF communique dated October 28, after a technical assessment conducted at the stadium from October 19 to 22.

Chakatazya says the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Zambia and Burundi has been moved from Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to National Heroes Stadium and will be played on November 13. The Zambia Under-23 team’s 2028 Olympic qualifier against Burkina Faso has also been moved to Heroes Stadium on November 15.

Chakatazya has called on fans to turn out in numbers to support both the senior Chipolopolo and the Under
