The Court of Arbitration for Sport will hear Senegal’s appeal on October 8, offering the nation a final chance to reclaim the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title stripped by CAF.

Senegal’s Football Federation has challenged the Confederation of African Football’s March ruling that forced the Teranga Lions to forfeit the continental final against Morocco, resulting in a 3-0 default loss and the trophy going to the hosts.

CAF has cited the tournament regulation breaches during the final as justification for the decision. Senegal has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining the ruling was unjust.

The Lausanne-based court’s October hearing is expected to deliver a definitive verdict on one of African football’s most contentious disputes.

Senegal registered its appeal with CAS in March, formally requesting the court overturn CAF’s decision and reinstate the Teranga Lions as continental champions.
