This represents an increase of more than 196,800 metric tonnes year-on-year, according to the official cement production report reviewed by the Zambian Business Times (ZBT). From January to June 2026, cement production climbed from 1,658,399 tonnes in the first half of 2025 to 1,855,263 tonnes, highlighting sustained growth in the sector.

Zambia’s cement market is currently served by five official producers, including Chilanga Cement, Zambezi Portland, Baudot, Oriental, Dangote, and Mphande Limestone. Efforts to get a comments from the leading cement producers regarding the impact of this production increase, and its potential effect on prices, were still underway at the time of publication.
