Collective investment assets hit K4 billion in Q2-SEC

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC Q2 report, the Collective Investment Scheme CIS industry has continued to demonstrate positivity, with Assets Under Management AUM increasing by K139.6 million, with total AUM increasing from K3.7 billion in March 2026 to K3.86 billion at the end of Q2-2026, representing about a 3.8% increase from quarter to quarter.

Economic expert Kelvin Chisanga has attributed the increase in Collective Investment Schemes to fiscal discipline and stability in the country’s various macroeconomic indicators.

Speaking in an interview with Zambian Business Times-ZBT Chisanga, it was noted that various key macroeconomic factors, such as reduced inflation, which stands in the single-digit target band, and improved exchange rates, encourage investors to invest their money in collective investment schemes.

“Having predictability around certain key economic variables and in the appetite seen in collective investment schemes, the conclusion of the elections as well has also played a huge role in driving the investor appetite, even though some political instability is still seen,” said Chisanga.

He added that the current economic environment in Zambia backed by various government policies has cultivated investors’ confidence and encouraged both local and foreign investors to invest in various instruments and schemes.
