Pensions and Insurance Authority Registrar and Chief Executive Officer NAMAKAU NTINI said there were slightly more than 1,000 licensed insurance intermediaries in the country.

Mrs. NTINI said the majority of the intermediaries were insurance agents, followed by brokers, adding that brokers remain key players in the insurance value chain.

ZSIC Life Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director COLLINS HAMUSONDE said the company operates through three main channels: retail, corporate and pensions.

Mr. HAMUSONDE said the three channels had paid out more than 730 million Kwacha in benefits to policyholders and pensioners over the past 18 months.
