Member of the UPND Media team FRANK BWALYA has announced that he will take legal action against a Kitwe Catholic priest, accusing him of defamation and cyber bullying.
Speaking during a press briefing in Kitwe, Mr. BWALYA said he has been forced to take the unprecedented step after the priest allegedly posted malicious statements intended to lower his image and that of his family in the eyes of right-thinking Zambians.
Mr. BWALYA emphasized that his decision to sue the priest was personal and not sponsored by the UPND.
He further said that the priest had recently alleged that he suffers from a mental illness and that the condition runs in his family.

He said he has for a long time tolerated insults and abuse over his 15-year political career but could no longer ignore the priest’s actions, especially because they involved his family.
Mr. BWALYA said he will report the priest to police for cyber bullying and related offences.
He explained that the alleged posts were published during a period when he was performing his official duties as a volunteer member of the UPND.
Mr. BWALYA, however, insisted he was not targeting the Catholic Church or its priests.
He said the majority of Catholic priests in the Diocese of Ndola and worldwide is genuinely good, holy, and committed to serving people.
Mr. BWALYA said he was taking the action to clear his name and prove that he is a person of principle.
Meanwhile, Fr. HENRY TYOLA , the accused, who is an assistant Priest at St Joseph Mukasa Parish, Kwacha Bulangililo Catholic Church denied the allegations.
