General Kanene – Vote For Jesus (Symbol Ni Lesa)

Veteran Zambian musician General Kanene has returned with a thought-provoking new single titled “Vote For Jesus (Symbol Ni Lesa),” a politically themed anthem released as Zambia prepares for the 13 August 2026 General Election.

Known for using music to comment on social and political issues, General Kanene once again delivers a message that encourages reflection rather than political alignment. In the song, the seasoned artist declares that his vote is for Jesus, making it clear through the lyrics that he is not endorsing any political party or candidate.

Instead of campaigning for a particular political figure, “Vote For Jesus (Symbol Ni Lesa)” encourages listeners to place their faith in God while navigating the country’s election period. The song carries a spiritual message, reminding citizens to seek divine guidance, uphold their values and make thoughtful decisions as they head to the polls.

Released during an election season that has seen several politically inspired songs emerge, General Kanene’s latest offering stands out by taking a different approach. Rather than urging support for any individual or political movement, the veteran artist centres his message on faith, personal conviction and hope for the nation.
