NORA Häuptle will lead Zambia’s Copper Queens at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after the Football Association of Zambia resolved all outstanding matters with the coach, FAZ said on Sunday.

This is according to a statement issued by FAZ head of media and communication Nkweto Tembwe.

FAZ acting deputy general secretary Iva Lengwe said the issues surrounding Häuptle’s future were settled following meetings with FAZ President Keith Mweemba. Häuptle has submitted her travel itinerary and is expected in Zambia ahead of the Four Nations Tournament in the June FIFA window.

“As things stand at present, Coach Nora will certainly lead the Copper Queens at the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament,” Lengwe said.

The tournament will feature Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso as preparation for the WAFCON finals in July. Lengwe said FAZ is focused on ensuring the team is adequately prepared for the continental showpiece and other international assignments.

He thanked the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and the public for their support for the national women’s team.
