Mafinga South Member of Parliament FAITH MUNTHALI has been arrested and charged with being armed in public and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Muchinga Province Commissioner of Police LUBINDA MAYAMBA says the offences were allegedly committed between July 13 and August 14, 2026, in the Muyombe area of Mafinga District.

Mr. MAYAMBA says Ms. MUNTHALI was allegedly in the company of a group of men said to be serving as her security personnel.

He says the men allegedly conducted themselves in a military-like manner and were armed with machetes, slashers, catapults and golf clubs, causing fear and alarm among members of the public.
