Police in Muchinga Province has released Mafinga Member of Parliament, Faith Munthali, on police bond.
Ms. Munthali, who was arrested and detained on September 12, 2026, was granted bond yesterday, September 15.
Muchinga Province Assistant Public Relations Officer, Timothy Malumo, has confirmed the development.
Ms. Munthali is facing charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and Accessory After the Fact, contrary to Sections 394 and 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
She has since been released after meeting the bond conditions.
Ms. Munthali is scheduled to appear before the Principal Resident Magistrate’s Court in Isoka District on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Mr. Malumo says the Zambia Police Service remains committed to upholding the Bill of Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Zambia, including the rights of suspects.
